Connecting Leaders Across the Organization
Leaders need access to knowledge and perspectives beyond their own departments. Harald established a quarterly online forum for approximately 100 leaders and trained two additional facilitators to support its delivery.
The Challenge
Leaders were committed to their own teams but had limited opportunities to exchange ideas across the organization. During the COVID period, the loss of informal contact made these gaps more visible. The organization needed a useful setting for discussing shared challenges and learning from colleagues in other functions.
Harald’s Contribution
Harald developed a facilitated online leadership forum focused on practical organizational topics. Breakout discussions, digital whiteboards, and methods such as World Café and Open Space encouraged active exchange.
A quarterly schedule gave leaders a recurring place to share experiences, discuss challenges, and identify opportunities for cooperation beyond their departments.
Two additional facilitators were trained so that delivery could be supported by more than one person.

What Changed
Leaders gained a recurring opportunity to share knowledge, understand other departments, and identify relevant expertise beyond their own teams.
The forum created connections between leaders who had previously had little contact. Training additional facilitators also built internal capacity to support the format.
What We Learned
Cross-functional relationships need opportunities to develop. A useful leadership forum combines a recurring structure with enough space for practical discussion, exchange, and shared problem solving.
